Ex- Physician Faces Sexual Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities have announced that a ex- physician stands accused of carrying out sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients.

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – including some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.

One deputy chief CPS official commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Investigation

These allegations come after what police called a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.

The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Prosecutors outline the 45 charges he is charged with:

  • 15 counts of assault.
