Nigel Farage Accuses Educators of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts shortly after a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “harming young minds” by telling students that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his viewpoint on the UK education system, stating that the “Marxist left” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike soon after winning the next general election,” he remarked during a Q&A session.

“They are corrupting young minds. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They are telling little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They create division, not uniting us. They promote this negative culture.”

Reacting to these assertions, Daniel Kebede dismissed the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “absurd”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.

“The politician has crafted his political career on dog-whistle politics and currently, like Trump, he is targeting educators and their unions for a fight,” Kebede stated.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he’s suggesting … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, including education … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

The party, which tops surveys by about 10 points, has not set out much detail on a proposed education policy and does not appear to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, his comments suggested the party would overhaul the educational framework. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with schooling – absolutely herculean. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that younger generations are receptive to critical thinking, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Honoring Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “All I want education to do to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that there are two points of view and you make up your own mind rather than what’s happening now where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

Reform has previously clashed with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted through education, their minds should be poisoned regarding national issues” and has argued that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people work in schools in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The leading teachers’ organization has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and millions of days of lost learning for children.

During the American gathering, Farage also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He said such groups were “key to resistance”, adding that: “I am serious. I will help attract vast numbers of youth to your online courses. I make that commitment now and I’ll do that.”

The college, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. Its website states: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of freedom. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for no charge to every interested learner.”
