The return of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread excitement within the community. From the gradual unveiling of newcomers before the game's release, to players forming firm opinions on the entire roster of Mega Evolutions, there's plenty for fans to anticipate.

Given many of the Super Forms boasting unique appearances that highlight their personalities, one thought naturally: What's the best way to connect this with zodiac signs? The following is inspired by a mix of intuition, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.

Aries – Mega Camerupt

Honestly, Houndoom was nearly chosen for Aries, as they are the Mega Pokémon and zodiac symbol that evoke the greatest apprehension. But, a Super Houndoom appears as constantly furious, which isn't typical of the Aries vibe, renowned for being fun, light-hearted, and impulsive. This makes Aries much more similar to Mega Camerupt, which solely erupts when provoked. Stay on the friendly side of both and benefit from a strong ally; if you cross them, be ready to get burned.

The Bull – Mega Heracross

Similar to a devoted Taurus, the reliable Heracross, both in its standard and Mega form, has aided numerous trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though trustworthy, both the Pokémon and a Taurus are still battle-oriented, and – be it their companion or a strong opinion – will defend their side unwaveringly. What about Super Heracross that recalls most of my Taurus friends, though, is its unabashed passion for treats. Many previous Pokédex entries mention their fondness for sweet sap and how it uses its horn to collect it everything, which is pure Taurus energy.

The Twins – Super Medicham

Look at this total royalty. It's impossible to tell me this Pokémon is not the life of any gathering, offering an endless fountain of gossip to anyone who wants to listen. Much like an captivating, gregarious Gemini, it's incredibly simple to imagine Super Medicham captivating an whole open area with their tales. This Pokémon's official description also mentions its ability to foresee an opponent's future actions, which seems quite similar to a socially-savvy Gemini.

The Crab – Mega Manectric

The Crab is widely regarded as the most sensitive member of the astrological wheel, a passionate symbol known for often getting absorbed in their feelings. Aside from the reality that it would be much too obvious, The Lion is clearly Mega Starmie, the star whose legs just went viral for being extremely glamorous (or horrifying, depending on your taste). Players were captivated from the purple starfish, and that’s precisely the same energy a Lion brings to the scene. Starmie is also said to be broadcasting radio waves from its red core out into the cosmos, and it’s typical of a Lion to be putting on a performance, albeit for aliens.

The Maiden – Super Victreebel

The always-ready and constantly-worried Virgo is ideally represented in Super Victreebel, the Mega with constant digestive issues. The sign known for being charmingly critical is clearly mirrored throughout this creature's entire evolutionary chain, from a always shocked face like a Virgo when you tell them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its inverted face that’s similar to the emoji a Maiden posts to the chatroom when all says they want to “go with the flow” rather than creating a plan.

The Scales – Super Audino

Look at this gentle, empathetic being, who uses the feelers on its auditory organs to tell how people are feeling by their heartbeat. Consistently compassionate – occasionally to a fault – and trying to maintain the harmony, there are many Libras who would likely benefit from Super Audino's abilities. However, let’s be honest, it would likely just make them worry more about everyone else.

Scorpio – Super Banette

This Ghost-type is a creature with a unexpectedly sad backstory: Abandoned as a toy, it became sentient through sheer hatred and vowed retribution on its former owner. According to the official info, Mega Evolution, “increases its spitefulness.” That seems exactly like several discussions I’ve had with my intense Scorpio friends. A Scorpio adores cosmic justice and retribution, making them the perfect match with Super Banette.

The Archer – Super Hawlucha

Each Super Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always staging a show. Being a Sagittarius myself, the amount of times I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “silly small jester” is countless. The showiest and most obnoxious Super Form, its description even mentions how it “flexes to display its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had a Mega evolved form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Archer counterpart I can imagine.

Capricorn – Super Absol

Were you aware that a Super Absol has the power to predict disasters in advance? That gives the exact same vibe as a Goat, who often always believe they’re right. The thing is, much like a visionary Super Absol, they often are. It’s also the absolute first Mega Evolution that players encounter in Legends: Z-A – just like a Capricorn to get in on the ground floor of the Super Form craze.

Aquarius – Super Chandelure

Detached air sign Aquarius is possibly the non-fire sign that is closest to a fire sign – its counterpart is Leo, and there are countless memes about Sagittarius and Water Bearer being chaotic accomplices. Mega Chandelure’s dual Spirit/Flame category fits perfectly with this, and the Mega’s general daunting presence is also very Aquarius.
